The Origins of the Project

A place in flux: Le Clos du Chêne, initially conceived as a classic commercial area, has undergone a significant transformation thanks to the initiative of its managers, who saw in street art an opportunity to energize the place and give it a unique identity.

The "Maquis-Art" initiative (2015): It was in 2015 that street art appeared at the Clos du Chêne, under the impetus of Maquis-Art, a collective of artists and a Parisian gallery specializing in graffiti. Their idea was to transform this place into an open-air gallery, accessible to all.

The Development of Street Art at the Clos du Chêne

Collaboration with artists: From the beginning, the project attracted the attention of many renowned artists. The freedom given to the creators and the possibility of working on large and visible walls have made the Clos du Chêne an ideal testing ground for street art.

Continuous evolution: Since 2015, the site has continued to welcome new works. Each year, new artists are invited to create frescoes, thus ensuring a constant renewal of the works and a perpetual evolution of the artistic landscape of the Clos du Chêne.
